Here we will talk about baldness that isn’t due to your inherited likelihood towards balding.
It should be noted that if you are a guy then it is 90+% that your baldness is hereditary. By that calculation only 10% of guys who suffer from
baldness have a condition where their hair loss isn’t hereditary. Here we will go into some details about hair loss which is caused by either
internal or external forces acting against your normal hair growth.
Research has indicated that the highest instances of hair loss (that isn’t hereditary) is due
to some trauma due to some external agent acting on the body. This trauma can come from anything from radiation, diseases, viruses, body trauma,
poisoning, childbirth or even severe levels of stress can all cause hair loss to a certain degree. Further information about each of these
external agents is available below:
- Hair loss due to Radiation;
- Hair loss due to Infectious Agents;
- Hair loss due to Body Trauma;
- Hair loss due to Poisoning;
- Hair loss due to Childbirth;
There is a condition called Trichotillomania which can afflict some people. This condition
isn’t so much a problem with the hair or anything to do with the hair, rather it is a problem with the owner of the hair. It is a psychotic
problem with where the person has a compulsive disorder of continually pulling or bending their hair which causes unnecessary trauma to the hair
and the roots. This problem tends to occur more with frequently with children or adolescent than in adults and is suspected to be linked with an
inability to cope with stress which manifests into a psychological disorder. In this condition hair isn’t actually absent from the scalp, rather
it is normally broken near the scalp or new hair grows which is very fine looking more like “peach fluff” rather than normal colored
hair.
